Mission Possible is a non-profit organization and social enterprise located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. We support individuals challenged by homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental illness, and other barriers to employment to achieve a renewed sense of dignity and purpose through meaningful work. Through our Employment Readiness Program, and our social enterprises, MP Maintenance & MP Neighbours, we equip our program participants with the skills, confidence, and support they need to rejoin the workforce and rebuild a self-sustainable livelihood for themselves.

About you:
We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and empowering volunteer to support our Employment Readiness Program’s Drop-In Hours.
Position Type:
- Volunteer Role
- Supporting the Employment Readiness Program Drop-In Hours: Tuesdays 10:00am-11:30am and/or Fridays 11:30am-12:00pm
Duties:
- Helping individuals update their resume
- Helping individuals update/create their cover letter
- Supporting individuals in preparing for interviews
- Supporting individuals in applying for job
What you bring:
- Patience
- Empathy
- Compassion
- Non-judgement
- Willingness to engage in conversation to build rapport with associates
- Some knowledge of the Downtown Eastside community
We ask for a 6 month commitment.
Volunteers can choose which day they are available to volunteer.
You will volunteer alongside and report to the Employment Readiness Coordinator and/or the Employment Engagement Coordinator.
