Celebrating Mission Possible's Power Breakfast

Celebrating Mission Possible's Power Breakfast

Our Powell Street building, where Mission Possible grew into the impactful organization it is today, has been sold and will be transitioning to another DTES organization, Heart Tattoo Society, who will be carrying forward this important work in the community in much the same way Mission Possible has for the past three decades.

As a result, on Saturday, October 26th 2024, we hosted our final Power Breakfast, celebrating a legacy of community and connection. Power Breakfast has been more than just a meal service—it has been a platform for meaningful discussions, collaborations, and connections that have positively shaped our Downtown Eastside community immensely. THANK YOU to all our incredible volunteers, staff members, sponsors, and community members who made the program as powerful as it was.

Our Manager of Momentum, Erin, shared some words about the impact of Power Breakfast on the community and on her own life.

"Power Breakfast program meant a lot to me, and to the community. The food was made with real care... and the Kitchen team called you in for help and got to you know you... Their warmth radiated out onto the path where the guests waited in line for coffees, brought out - even made to order - to the guests preference. The energy was something so unique. It had me coming back each week on repeat. It's truly the end of an era as Power Breakfast comes to a close, but we keep with us all of the memories made. And it inspires us all to continue searching for our way to connect, and meet with the community as often as possible. Our DTES community truly deserves all the warmth in the world." — Erin Black

Though this program is ending, Mission Possible continues to be committed to improving food security for our community through our daily lunches for associates, and our community pantry. 🧡
