Strand: Gala 2022 Gold Partner

Founded in 1976, Strand is a Vancouver-based finance, development, and investment company that has been fostering strong relationships in the community and with all stakeholders since their inception. Thus, Strand has established a strong reputation based on integrity and mutual respect in communities across North America. This success has enabled them to expand their community-based initiatives as well.

Strand is deeply invested in each of the local communities that they are a part of, and has supported Mission Possible (MP) since 2018 in various ways. In fact, Strand was the recipient of our Impact Partner award at the 2022 Mission Possible Gala to recognize their commitment as a partner of Mission Possible and MP Maintenance. They have contributed significantly to the Employment Readiness Program, and have made a strong commitment to making an impact in their community with social purchasing.

When asked why it is important to give back to your community, Sh’eli Mullen, Strand’s Executive Assistant, commented, “At Strand, we embody a culture that strives towards helping make our community a better place, while empowering individuals to realize their full potential.”

The purpose of the 2022 Mission Possible Gala went beyond partner recognition. It gave graduated associates the opportunity to share their personal journeys of how MP has impacted their lives. Unanimously, this was Strand's favourite part of the gala. Cathy Ferris, the Senior Accountant at Strand, noted that, “It was incredible to hear the obstacles MP’s community members have overcome, and how they continue to push forward and conquer adversity through empowerment and purpose.” Jackie Glastador, Manager of People and Culture, agreed with her colleague; “The entire evening was very inspiring to me. This was the first time I’ve heard of Mission Possible… I was so blown away by the work they are doing in our city!”

Here at Mission Possible, we are deeply grateful for our Gold Partners, like Strand, who support us in continuing to provide the programs and resources that help people on their journey towards sustainable livelihoods. Without their kindness and devotion to giving back to their community, we would not be able to support as many people as we do! Strand’s Marketing and Sales Manager, Jenna Macdonald said, “Our company believes in giving back to our local communities to make a difference for future generations.
