A Legacy of Giving Back: Strand
For nearly half a century, Strand, a Vancouver-based finance and development company, has built a reputation for successful real estate investment...
Taseko Mines Ltd. is a leading North American copper mining company, dedicated to unlocking copper's true value as a key metal for the world's low-carbon future. Founded in BC in 1966, Taseko continues to prioritize growth and sustainability, while staying connected to its foundations – like the Gibraltar Mine in the Cariboo Chilcotin.
Last year, Taseko began their partnership with significant strides, supporting Mission Possible by becoming a Gold Partner of the 2023 Mission Possible Gala, sponsoring our first electric vehicle, supporting two associates as Impact Sponsors, and sponsoring two Graduations!
As part of Taseko's commitment to delivering 360⁰ of Value, Sean Magee, VP of Corporate Affairs, shares, "Taseko supports local organizations that deliver direct, tangible, on-the-ground support to people seeking to better their lives. Mission Possible’s dedication to providing opportunities and resources for people to go beyond their own potential, is aligned with our values. We believe the work they are doing is making a real difference in people in our community’s lives - which is why we are proud to be a community partner ." Taseko’s enthusiasm to not only support our growth and community, but to get involved is what makes them incredible partners.
For example, when MP expressed the desire to purchase our first electric truck, Taseko enthusiastically kickstarted the fundraising campaign with a generous $10,000 donation, helping us further our transition towards more environmentally sustainable transportation. Sean shares, "As a copper producer, Taseko acknowledges Mission Possible’s contribution to advancing the energy transition in BC." Taseko’s involvement continued throughout the year, and they finished out the year strong bringing two tables of employees to celebrate MP's accomplishments at our 2023 Gala.
Now, in 2024, Taseko has already committed to continuing its support of Mission Possible, opting to financially support two new associates through their employment journey. Additionally, Taseko is engaging with MP's events and campaigns, including MP Community Clean Up Day (previously Cleanest Day of the Year) and our annual MP Gala in November. Mission Possible is truly grateful for Taseko's dedication to fostering change in our community and empowering people to regain dignity through meaningful work.
