ABOUT THE JOB
Position Type:
- Full time (up to 40 hours/week)
- Temporary (6-month seasonal contract)
Note: The scheduling for seasonal positions fluctuates based on demands of the business. Exact dates are subject to the weather but the work season will likely be April - November. Please note this before applying.
Compensation: $20-22/hour, commensurate upon skills & experience

Job Summary
The Property Maintenance Technician (PM Tech) will be responsible for conducting property maintenance services while mentoring program participants (Associates), and ensuring the efficient, safe, and effective completion of client needs.
Working Conditions
The PM Tech reports to the PM Supervisors and Coordinator. This role is team-based and works alongside the Property Maintenance team and other departments. Most work takes place outside of MP’s main office, either on a driving or walking route. The PM Tech will be expected to work in all weather conditions, including sun, rain, and snow.
Key Areas of Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Property Maintenance
- Service Delivery: Work with PM Supervisors in performing quality exterior commercial cleaning services to customers including but not limited to pressure washing, awning, canopy, gutter and window cleaning, landscape maintenance, graffiti removal, site cleanup, and dump drop off
- Inventory: Monitor inventory and maintenance of supplies, equipment, and cleaning products, and ensure their availability and proper functioning
Ensure the warehouse work area, vehicles and equipment are organized and safe
Safety
- Ensure safety on job sites including proper use of equipment and ensuring the safety of those in the proximity of equipment being operated
- Take time to share with your team methods, techniques, and safe equipment use
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring the proper use, storage, and disposal of chemicals and waste materials
Communications & Relations
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, including respectfully addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction
- Teamwork: Be a positive, contributing team member
- Attend and make contributions to meetings as required
- Use work order software (Jobber) from a smartphone (cell phone allowance provided), Google Suite, and Slack
- Mentor and set a positive example for Associates, and lead in the absence of a supervisor
Other duties as assigned by the Property Maintenance Supervisors and Coordinator
ABOUT YOU

- Technical knowledge of Property Maintenance and Landscaping service
- Physical ability to perform services
- Ability to demonstrate excellent punctuality and deliver quality, efficient work
- Ability to follow instructions and problem solve
- Great communication and conflict resolution skills
- Customer Service skills
- Ability to work well independently and as a team member
- Knowledge of DTES prevailing issues, including violence, mental health and substance use, unsafe living conditions, access to supportive resources
Education and Experience

Minimum 6 months previous experience in a property maintenance, landscape, or related service

Certification or training in landscape and property maintenance services is an asset

Experience working in social services or a non-profit organization is an asset
Completion of or a willingness to complete: OFA1 first aid, Mental Health First Aid, Lift certification, Trauma Informed Practice training -
Or the equivalent combination of related skills and experience
